Responsibilities
- Management of the Vehicle Pool and Transportation: Organize the allocation and daily availability of vehicle(s)
- Establish and monitor tools for vehicles follow-up: logbooks, vehicle trackers, technical check-ups use of seatbelts, adherence to speed limits, vehicle booking process and movement monitoring system etc.
- Work closely with project drivers to ensure they are well supported
- Contribute to the supply chain management efforts up to and including logistical support from the ordering point through the follow-up, expediting, and delivery of the required goods and/or services
- Coordinate the freight forwarding efforts with the RTI Logistics Office and Home Office Support Team as required
- Understand and ensure compliance with legal guidelines, Federal Export Control (if applicable), contracting principles, sourcing and price/cost analysis requirements
- Oversee logistical management of the project inventory and commodity requirements for operations within main office and cluster offices in close collaboration with the procurement and grants coordinator
- Provide support for overall property management and inventory control, reports, custody control documents, and reconciliations according to USAID rules and regulations.
- Identify any funding gaps and work with the Chief of Party and Finance Manager to mobilize additional resources.
- Maintain oversight of the security issues affecting areas where the project works
- Keep project teams updated with any security concerns
- Register with OSAC and PLSO and share relevant information/reporting with the project team
- Liaise with the Regional Security Manager on issues related to security in Honduras
- Ensure the project phone tree is kept updated and test every quarter
- Work with the field teams to address any security concerns
- Ensure the field teams are aware of procedure should a requirement to rest in place/evacuate arises and what that means for everyone
- Brief any STTA arriving in-country of security issues
- Maintain a list of suitable accommodation options in each field office location Note: There is a security cleared list of accommodation for capital and major cities
- Devise a Journey Management Plan (JMP) with the Regional Security Manager and ensure it is implemented across the project
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience working with USAID projects preferable
- Additional professional training in logistics management preferred
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Strong organizational, reporting and management skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work hands-on, independently, and within team
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to coordinate activities with officials from host country government, US Government, NGOs, and other agencies
- Willingness to travel frequently to the field offices
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
